A group of students of the Master degree program in gender studies at the University Paris 8 are organizing a one day meeting called Féminisme(s) Noir(s), Toujours Debout! - which will take place the 13th of April from 10:30am to 5pm at La Colonie. The event is about black feminism and its special development in France. Women of color, even when hidden from public debates, have always made their voices heard on issues such as colonialism, imperialism, capitalism , patriarchy and homophobia. Their battles represent an important step towards an ongoing process of a general emancipation.
During the convention, the question of control of the body operated and its subsequent re-appropriation will also be addressed.
